The AKC encourages the dog fancy to work together on legislative issues. To facilitate these efforts, many clubs and individuals
who are interested in protecting and promoting the world of purebred dogs form state and local federations, coalitions, or alliances.
South Shore Kennel Club is a member of
Massachusetts Federation of Dog Clubs and Responsible Dog Owners (MassFed), a legislative watch group.
Lobby Day at the State House
Joining the Massachusetts Federation of Dog Clubs and Responsible Dog Owners,
SSKC members went to the MA State House in April 2009 and 2010 to meet with
their state representatives and senators to discuss upcoming dog-related legislation.
2011 Lobby Day is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26th in Nurses Hall at the State House.
